Would you guys briefly write the application process for me ? What kind of thing I need to prepare for the application . how long will it take? can I change the exam time after the application? what's the qualification required? thank you very much!!!

The answer to most of your questions can be found at the ECFMG website: http://www.ecfmg.org/. Also you can refer to the "First aid for the USMLE Step 1" for some information. This should be the first book you read even before you prepare for the USMLE test. You can buy it from any bookstore or Amazon.com. Brief answer to your questions: 1. Application process and things you need to do: 1) Read instructions from ECFMG; 2) Prepare your diploma, transcript. If they are not in English, you have to use an ECFMG-recognized translation service. 3) Decide when you are going to take the test, and apply about 6 months in advance. 3) Apply on line using ECFMG-IWA. At this time, you have to provide a 3-month window in which you want to take your exam. For example, if you want to take it in Oct, you can choose 8-10, or 9-11, or 10-12 exam window. In addition, you have to submit the supporting materials (diploma, photo, ect, and one notarized form you print out at the end of your on-line application) through mail. 4) They will then contact your school to confirm your education there. Usually this is the rate-limiting step. 2. How long it takes? It depends on how fast your school responds. Usually less than 2-3 months. 3. Can you change the exam time? 1) You do not have to decide your exact test date when you apply, just a 3-month window. After you recieve the exam permit, you can set up your test date any time as long as they can accomodate you. Usully it is not a problem if it is not too late. 2) You can extend ONCE for your exam period with a fee. See ECFMG website for details. 3. Requirements. Read ECFMG website: International medical education directory. As long as you can find your school name there, and your education is more than 4 years, you should be fine. READ THROUGH ECFMG WEBSITE! Good luck
