Hi friends,

Going to take Step 3 in 1 month but really did not prepare well. Still wanna give it a shot. It's a long run and I'm really tired of USMLE. But what if I failed? Of course I can try again but, in addition to the money thing,

Did anyone take Step 3 twice? If I pass on second attempt, would it be a very negative record for the match? esp. if I pass on 2nd attempt with a low score..

Hope to pass on first attempt anyway, Thanks in advance to your reply!

WOW, hope you did not do it.

In my opinion don't do it if you do not feel ready. It is not just that you don't pass it at the first attempt, I think that not passing can hurt your confidence in such a negative way that this can take away from you much more than what the experience can give you.
Many people who fail once end up failing twice and from there each time feels much much worse.

By the way, YOU CAN postpone your test date once. I think you have time if you are at least one week away from testing date. You must pay an extra fee (I think $50 or maybe 100) But it is worth it. Call the FSMB!

I hope this gets to you on time. nod

I agree. The step 3 for me was harder than STep 2. And I think there is a strong score correlation. I got above 90s on both steps 1 and 2. Lots of ethics, dermatology and internal med.
