not sure of details...but i found this...
It tends to cause multiple actions...
Action directly on intestine and on CNS...inc tone and dec propulsive movements
Spasm of sphincters...pyloric, ileo-colic, anal etc
Dec GI secretions
Dec defecation reflex perception by CNS
Note: tolerance doesnt develop to this....so chronic opiate abusers will remain constipated.
