In my exam score report paper it's said that SD for the step 1 is 24, here http://www.prep4usmle.com/forum/thread/10309 it's also 24,
but on the official site of the usmle it's only 20 - http://www.usmle.org/FAQs/faqusmlescores.htm.
Bhushan in his 'First Aid' also says that SD is 20.
Which one is correct?
This issue is important, because some residency programs are using 1, 1.5, or even 2 SDs above the mean (it's 216 for step 1) for selection purposes of candidats.
