OXYgen TEnsion...is it similar to oxygen saturation? can anyone explain it ...i know it might be something very stupid to ask but i am confused

o2 tension---is the total o2 in the body ( pao2,,in tissues ....) oxygen saturation----oxygen bound to haemoglobin. example...CO competes fr hb on binding sites and decrease saturation of oxygen. anyone else..........

o2 tension is the dissolved O2(Po2) in blood .O2 sat is the o2 attached to Hb

sorry...I was obviously wrong on this... I just remembered this relationship from Goljan O2 content= 1.34* Hb * O2 saturation + PaO2 Thanks guys!
