i'll try and explain the Qs u pointed out.....this is all in Kaplan...

Q6 she has left side neglect of her body. This is a sign of lesion in the right or non-dominant parietal lobe. Other signs she is showing is anosognosia....whr the patient denies they hv a problem. There is a lack of integration in the somatosensory and visual interpretation. The patient's vision is okay but fails to acknowledge their own body on the left side.

If the lesion is in the Dominant or left parietal lobe, it is called Gerstmann syndrome. Here they hv agraphia, acalculia, finger agnosia, rt-lt disorientation and many learnign disabilities...

Q7 u can use "CAGE" qs...the best frm these choices is B.

although i agree with the CAGE approach - the questions asked about "initating" a conversation with the patient. i don't know that the patient is aware that he has a problem, and then to jump in with "do you feel guilty..." may not be the right approach. i agree with C, in that asking him about the impact of his drinking may be a better opener, and then i would roll with the CAGE questions.

any thoughts?

ya, open ended question.. is C... ...seeems to b more accurate ...
