yes, ineed to be brave and persistant. thats the only way.
today i started Micro Q bank, score is in 40s I think i Should review all the charts again and than try again.

this weight gain is a big problem. I am gaining a pound a week. looks like i am not the only one. 
cool guy i also got Dr don. i think you should listen ti him in bacterio as he shows plenty of good slides. but I wont advise it for viruses.

Good spirit 26malik..yes I agree, Dr Dunn shows good slides for bacteriology, that makes things easy to remember!
Yes malik..courage and perseverence is what it matters..people say, these words are good old stuff, but as we go thru this hurdle, each and every word uplifts our spirit to push us forward as a propellent..keep up the spirit..keep going..we can do this

Did 50 Q from qbank. also reviewd gen bacterio from FA and started MRS. It was better than yesterday but i am not happy. i should have done more. and q bank score is still low. 48%. i intend to move it up to 65+. tomorrow i will cram all micro from FA. Also bacteriology from MRS. Inshallah
Thanks Hodgkins. you are right. these words are very powerfull. they give you courage and hope. the things we need alot now.

malik, be encouraged that you are not the only one with low qbank scores!!  i made 44% once in bioch. i moved up to 54%. but hey guess what, zerocool was not getting good scores and he made 99. he says it is the last couple weeks when we can really improve on our scores cos we would have memorised a lot of stuff esp from FA. you think you will not forget waht you memorise now? will it not be a waste of time? why dont you just get on with understanding concepts and give time close to exam date to do memorisation????

hey malik,thanks for stopping by my diary.i am studying.its just not visiting this forum much to give more time to read.
you are doing good.dont get discouraged by low score,keep working on wrong answer.many times you jumble between two answers.try to clear that jumbling .take time to read explanations.tolito is right,solve Q bank to make things clear.

Thanks tolito for advise. you are right that i will forget most of the stuff but i would like to make things more clear in my head. all this is so confusing it is irritating that i am making basic mistakes. But i will speed up now. As if i waited to perfect it, it will definitely take forever.

i reviewd Bacteriology from FA. Half of bacteria from MRS and 50 Qs. Got 50 . So very little work done and Score also bad. i dont know what to d. this stuff is so Confusing. doing questions everything jumbles up. there were many questions i knew i have read but couldnt remember clearly. OK. Micro. I can Grow, You cannot. i still have 3 more days alloted to you. I will do all i can to beat youTomorrow:
Finish Bacterio from MRS.
Finish Fungi from MRS.
50Q qbank
Read fungi, parasites and viruses from FA. especially note unique features and learn classifications. As i was forgetting what organism is in which group.

hey 26 Malik,
Dont get discouraged micro and pharma are 2 subjects with very volatile info .im doin micro too these days and at the end of the day i feel like i dont remember anything
but i have decided not to get frustrated and start going over the same info to forget it once again
MRS charts are very good but i also tend to forget classification and features like virulence factors,enzymes etc so at the end of each group of bacteria i make a smaller chart with imp info like classification,urese,coagulase+ and how to diff b/w imp pathogens like,e-coli,salmonella,shigella etc so in the end i just look at those charts instead of reading the tiny tiny print in MRS
This is just my way of doin it might not work for everyone (writing the same info in diff order) but i hope it helps !
and yes we can grow (lets say )MRS cannot

thanks aliya for advise. it is really good. you are right . mrs charts are very good but they dont give you what you must remember in the end. unique features of organisma and dont correlate things well. i must make my own list of things that i keep on forgetting. thanks fruit. your encouragement is very helpful .

I need to follow yoda' advise . Today did only 4 hrs study. only finished staph and strep from MRS. Two days left to finish micro. tomorrow, inshallah, i will finish rest of bacteria and All the viruses from MRS. Must. 50 Q. than parasites and fungi and rest of qbank on saturday.

yes go for it malik!
i have made my own list cos i find the mrs charts too small for my poor eyes. i have presbyopia on top of my myopia and the prints make my eyes hurt. i also found out the same as you, they do not correlate stuff so i ahve made a lot of charts too. like tests and org, disease and causative org, stains and org, special cultures and org that cannot be cultured, dis and incubation period, lymph node enlrgt and causative org, photophobia adn org that cause it, culture medium and org. so i make the lists as i go along. if i just stare at these pages a couple hours before my exam, i will surely remember ?

hi malik !
i am a new member in this forum but i am already in love with u all ....ur daily dairy cum plannner was very interesting. while i was reading ur posts, i got the impression that u were being very hard on urself over micro n pharma. well, lemme tell u a thing or two abt micro....i took my step 1 on march 29th , the micro i came across was very simple n staright forward. infact,u'll find it hard to believe but i only did the micro flow charts from kaplan at the end along with FA micro....thats all ! all micro finished in 3 days n i was able to solve all the questions Alhumdullilah. now, i am not advising u to do the same but RELAX ! micro is usually very starightforwadly put, thats what all my friends who have taken the exam say n thats what i am saying too...
ok pharma is a different story....there was a lot of pharma in my exam especially from CVS, micro and CNS sections.....do pharma in small bursts rather than spending hours on it. take out an hour everyday for pharma...dont go overboard as it will vaporize anyways. thats what i tell every1 to do...do pharma EVERYDAY n keep REVISNG it...that is the only way u can beat it ... hope it helps u n good luck man

Hey Malik, Im new here too, just started about 3 weeks ago(or has it been a month now!!) going really slow. Stay in there and get thru cuz It'll give hope to all of us especially me!
By the way were u known as 'Nate Dog' in school cuz I knew a Malik too and thats what we used to call him in medschool

i finished micro and than i did BS. Now i will start Biochem. i am behind schedule so i must hurry. last time i did it from lippincot. i will try to review it from kaplan as every one recommends it to me. Hmmm. must see why its so special. this time i must focus on what is clinically imp.
