hi! i would like to ask for your humble opinion regarding my situation...
i took my step1 exam in october 2005, step2CK in november 2005 and step2CS in december 2005. i got 99 in the first two exams, and i just found out (through the eras trick) that i passed my CS exam. however, since i got my step1 score only last november, i applied quite late to the different residency programs. and i applied to only 15 programs (because i thought i would be wasting my money by applying to more programs). hence, i only got one interview invitation (from rush university in chicago).
my dilemma is...should i rank the one and only residency program that invited me to interview, or should i just apply again for next year's match? i actually liked rush university, but i haven't gotten to visit other hospitals and see whether their residency programs are better. well, if i decide to apply again next year, i will see to it that i apply as soon as ERAS opens on sept.1.
another advantage of not participating in this year's match is that i will be able to take the step3 exam late this year and probably get an H-1 visa when i start residency next year.
so what do you think i should do?
