What are the pros and cons of taking step 2 first, instead of taking step 1 first?

HI Blueberry,

hope u r doing fine ... step 1 is the most important so u have to prepare it very well , step 2 is quit easier

for me i started with step 2 as im doing my internship now and it goes smoothly and nicely by mixing the theory with practical (i did surgey with my surgical internship ...) so it depend on what are u doing now

all the best

Hi,

I took step 1 recently and I am preparing for step 2 now . I do think it is better to start with step 1 . First because the subjects of step 1 will make an easier study for step 2 and also because if you cannot scape from step 1 ,anyway, face it and finish with it .This is my opinion.

Good luck

is there any advantage of takin step 2 before step 1?

To assure a high score on both components it is best to take the step 1 first. The trick to getting a respectable score on the step 2 is to have a strong base of knowledge that only comes from mastering the basic sciences

i took step1 & preparing for step2

i would say step1 first

Taking step 2 first will help you understand basic sciences in the clinical context. Also, step 1 is most important so wouldnt it be great to have everything else behind you to be able to focus better? My personal option is step 2 CS, step 2 CK, step 1.
