Which of the following is the best choice to treat the metabolic acidosis seen at the hypovolemic shock ? Why ?
a) Colloids
b) Lactate soution with Ringer
c) NaHCO3
d) Bismuth
e) Dobutamine

B. Lactated Ringer's solution is the resuscitation fluid of choice. Colloid solutions are expensive and do not equilibrate with the interstitial space as rapidly as Ringer's lactate. Even though smaller volumes of colloid are required for initial resuscitation, the consensus is that colloid-containing fluids have no significant advantage over Ringer's lactate for resuscitation of the shock casualty.

That's true.
Lactate is transformed to bicarbonate at the liver so it's also very helpful to treat the metabolic acidosis.
