Hello Meenaa

As I said in my post, the score is not only a matter of knowledge but the way you face the challenge of the test is to me, very very important.

In my case, I used to get lower scores when I faced the tests without a technique and with low concentration and higher scores with higher concentration. At one point, I started to investigate the reason of this difference and I noticed that at each block I used to get wrong to many easy Qs (very frustrating) because of:

1. reading too fast and loosing important point;

2. not feeling comfortable with normal labs; (memorize them; you should go through them in 5-6 seconds)

3. lack of concentration; while I was doing NBME form 1 I found a part of my mind thinking about my every day life and listenning to people talking on the street outside my house)

4. forgetting a point of the first sentence (sex, age, job, particular region of residence or race, etc.) while I was reading very long Qs

5. waste of time between each Qs which is very bad for one important reason: it makes you lack time at the end of each block. as a result you panic at the last 5-10 Qs, read them too fast or skip easy Qs. At the NBME test this would mean panic at 20-30Qs; at the real exam it would mean doing 40-60 Qs bad only because of bad technique. The final consequence is a low score which does not depend to your knowledge but to the way you face the test. This is what happened to me and it is the mean reason why I improved in a short time.

I didn't find form 2 and form 3 more difficult than NBME form 1.

good luck

Thanx Wamba for the reasoning. Though most of us 'll have these problems we try to overlook them rather than overcoming it.

Thanx to u too Meena !!!
