Is there any difference in these two terms or are they the same?

complete lost of brain and brainstem function is brain death. Lack of awareness and concioussness, this is call coma. Cortical death is a state of unconciousness and awareness in which the patient can open the eyes, swallow, produce tears without any stimulus.
