HMG CO-A reductase inhibitors and fibric acid derivatives both cause rhabdomyolysis and acute renal failure, therefore are not used together.

the question is asking about HMG CO-A reductase inhibitors and cholestyramine.I think the only reason they shouldn't be given together is that cholestyramin will decrease absorbtion of statin.anyone else?
