yeah, its an IgG antibody (inhibitory) against a receptor so type II...the same as Grave's (stimulatory) which is also type II..

i think hashimoto thyroiditis is type IV delayed type hypersensitivity mediated by T lymphocytes

Doc2378 I remember goljan said it's typeII,but kaplan immunology says it's type IV as sarika said.

well i think it is type 4, but logically me too think it should be type 2 , non cytotoxic type anyone???

It is clear that it is not just one type but both Type 2 and Type IV HSR, but I don't know what they want us to put

its noncytotoxic type 2 , kaplan immuno says its type2 and goljan says its type 2 . as graves , myasthenia gravis, hyeracute graft rejection, good pastures, autoimmuneheamolytic anemia and auto immune thrombocytic purpura and the cytotoxic type 2 is erythroblastosis fetalis

I am sorry abt that I do not know which year of notes this is. But when I give it a little thought ...everywhere it says that type 4 is always cell mediated and we all know that Hashimotos is an autoimmune process so it can never be type4 . it can be either type 2 or 3. But it can not be type3 either as that is antigen antibody complex hypersensitivity

Hashimoto thyreoiditis is also called lymphomatose thyreoiditis and there are CD8 lymphocytes there so it is type IV as well as type II
