A 35 yr old pharmacist reports to your office with recurrent episodes of forgetfullness and tiredness. A serum glucose is found to be 20mg/dl(70-110mg/dl). Additional studies on the sample reveal and high serum insulin and a low C-peptide level. Based on the findings, you suspect patient has

a. a benign tumor involving the a islet cells
b. a benigh tumor involving the b islet cells
c. surreptiously injected human insulin
d. an ectopic secretion of insulin like factor
e. an early phase of type 1 diabetes mellitus

thanku C-peptide...u see a discrepancy between the levels of tht and insulin...u know "surreptiously" injected insulin!

hey but why does this pharm guy have near normal glucose (70-110)...even though he's shooting himself??

eeks!!!...that was the normal reference range in parenthesis (guess, I better stay away for the rest of the day)....ofcourse its C and this pharm dude should be sacked from the job! grin
