i find these really confusing can sumone please explain....

ok, what i precisely dont get is...how come ariginine(pk 13) and lysine (pK10) are charged(ionized???) at physiological pH when they will be completely undissociated......

all right...at physiological PH (7.34)...Arginine and Lysine are in a relatively acidic medium since PH< pKa . As a result both of them accept protons and become positively charged (thats why they are called 'basic' amino acids)

Positive charges on Arginine and Lysine at the physiological PH are physiologically significant as the Histones are rich in both Arginine and lysine making it a positively charged protein which is able to coil the negatively charged DNA...
