I am a prospective Residency candidate planning to do my residency in the year 2004. I am very keen in getting into a General Surgery position. I would be thankful to anyone who could spare a few minutes of their valuable time in guiding me. I am an International Medical Graduate currently in the process of getting my ECFMG certificate. I have scored a 91 in my Step1 and am preparing for my Step2.
I would greatly appreciate if you can help me out by advising me of my chances/possibilities of getting into a Surgery position. Also it would be highly valuable if you can share some of your Application & Interview experiences with me.
Looking forward to getting a reply. Any Advise/inputs would be highly appreciated.

I m going to start IM residency this year, but I do hear that Surgery is pretty tough. Some of people I know got a prelim position but then cant get into categorical. So be careful...
