I received my results yesterday. I passed. My Score 206/84. Thanks to ALLAH.
Although I don't have a great score, but I'm happy with it (Alhamdo-lellah). I have studied for 6 months; I used Kaplan center prep, Goljan Audio and Rapid review book, and FA. I took the NBME I on Nov 26 and my score on that exam was 420 (Approximate step 1 three digit: 198). I used Kaplan Q-Bank only one time and my overall score was 58% (Range 48-78%). I took my exam on Dec 15.
I tried the OASIS trick and it worked for me. I got a massage indicating that: "Our recodes shows that you have already passed the USMLE step 1 exam and ....."
I tried to start studying for step 2 but I couldn't do it before I get my score. I' going to start m step 2 today.
About my exam breaks:
I arrived at 8:25 and I was the first one in the "Prometric Center" so I was able to choose a corner spot for myself. I started my test at 8:35. I have skipped the tutorials because I was already familiar with the software from the USMEL CD. I did the first two blocks with no break. Then I took a 5 minute break. I did the third block and then another 5 minute break. After the fourth block I took my lunch break for 30 minutes. Because I had few extra minutes and I knew that I'm not going to use it in other ways, so I took another 5 minute break after my the fifth block and then before the last block I took a long 11-12 minutes break. Before I start my exam, I was thinking that will be dead after 5-6 blocks, but actually, I was as fresh as the first block and did not feel tired at all. I had a small meal of chicken and pasta and coke and in breaks I had some chocolate.
Exam Questions:
I think that the real USMLE exam is much easier than KAPLAN Q-Bank. I had many questions that were less than one line, and may be 5-6 questions with only 3 choices. My big list of choices was usually on Micro, with choices from A-K! (11 Choices), but those questions I thought was easier because if you really know the organism that they ask, all you have to do is to find it in the choices, and if you don't know the answer you just have to skip it by selecting any answer.
I had many question in GI. Although usually everyone says that GI is not a very important topic, but I think there were no GI enzyme missed in my exam. I had questions about all Stomach, pancreas and intestinal secretions and their mechanism. I had one question, exactly the same as the question that I had on my USMLE CD! I didn't get many questions from my favorite topic (Cardiovascular), which that really surprised me.
The bad thing about my exam: Every block started with easy and short questions, but toward the end of the block the questions were more complicated and with long description and may be some calculations. That caused my to not to be able to do all the questions at the end of 2 blocks and I had to only select a random answer without reading the question for 1-2 questions because I was running out of time on that block. After 2 blocks of bad experience I learned that, so I was good on the rest of blocks.
I think that is all I can remember now.

congratulations on your good score , your hardwork paid off.
i scored 390 on nbme part I please advice am i ready for the exam i have a slot for until end of february, how many days do i need to be ready for the exam.
please advice like ok i will review my weak areas, i will review all the books i used and take nbme ii and see where i stand, i don't know i am confused.some say 390 is a bad score ,there is a risk you will not pass and some say you will pass with score of 80.
please give some input.
did you review kaplan books and did you find gojan audio helpful.please take some time and answer all my questions.

Lunate: Thank you for your reply. I think 390 is a little low. But you have time untill your exam day. What I suggest is to study hard the remaining days and work hard on your weak areas and take the NBME II not later than 3 weeks before your exam. If you score below 400, I would suggest to post pone your exam, but if you score over 400 you have a better chance to pass the test. But you still have to work very hard. Yes, I did all the Kaplan Lecture notes except for Pathology. I used Goljan for my pathology and that was great for me.

congratulations.U gave me a fresh breath of relief.I also have scored 420 on nbme form 1 .I have one and a half month to go still and just studying for form 2.If my score stays stable or improves a bit,I just hope badly,I will definitely go for the test.My q bank score right now is at an average of 60% with some highs as 78 to 80s too.I just wish u all the best for step 2.U DID IT

did you use kaplan lecture note plz tell me about the year of lecture note that you used
and also inform me about the kaplan's teacher ,i have kaplan lectures note 2002 and their dvds
is there any sicnificant change between 2002 and the newest kaplan lecture note
and what do you think kaplan lecture note, is enough for geting good score?

farjoudi: I used the 2004 lecture notes. I am in the US so I used the Kaplan center (not the DVDs). Since I have not used the 2002, I have no idea about the changes between the 2002 and 2004. But I have received the 2006-2007 edition of four lecture notes 3 days before my exam, so I really didn't have enough time to go through the new edition.
What I think is that KAPLAN lecture notes is enough, but I highly suggest that you also use the First Aid with the lecture notes. The only weak area in kaplan notes is Pathology, which I really didn't do it. I used Goljan book and audio for my Pathology.
