thanks for ur answer. i was wondering between eosinophils, mast cells and basophils! If an exam Q asks the same and asks to choose the cell from a blood smear pic.....then acc. to you we shd be looking for basophils. correct?

well if its type 1 hs, always pick mast cell or pick basophils never pick eosinophil for type 1 hs, as the ige ab attaches to the mast cell or basophil
