What is the difference between Standard Error and Standard Deviation?

well standard deviation is the term used in descriptive statistics.where as standard error is used in inferrential statistics. Descriptive statistics are one we will do a population study.Inferrentisl statistics are one in which we will take a small section of population and infer these results to the general population. SE = S/square root N N is the sampe of the population we take in the study.

right. SE is also part of the formula for finding the CI. (confidence interval). CI = Mean +/- Z (SD/square root of N)
