My speculation is (I am not sure this is true or not): the quota are for this year. But maybe ususally they hide some under the table for pre-matches. On Jan 31, which is the deadline for quota changes, they will adjust their quota according to the pre-match results. So I guess (for example, CWRU) maybe their regular quota is 12 (same for every year), but somehow they did not fill the pre-match spots last year, so eventually they had 17 spots going for match. Anyway it is very likely that the qutoa will change in some degree, and maybe same will happen this year, depending on the pre-match outcomes. Pure speculation. Hope this will not cause more confusion

But the ranking began on Jan15th, (today) and Im not sure how many program directors were working over this long weekend just to get in their ROLs. Plus when I tallied each and every program, there was no discrepany between the ROL from last year and the one high lighted this year (unless im looking at a wrong place),,The Progs. have plenty of time to rank their applicants and Im not sure they will rush to do it so early

I apologise! There was some discrepancy in terms of the slots participating in the match...This means its a new ROL.

To drkill: after you log onto NRMP, you can find a "directory" button on your left. There you can get those information (including program code, quota, etc) from each program that you are interested in. ALERT: NRMP code for each program is different from the ACGME code you got from the ERAS. To genedoc: I think quota are different from ROLs: quota are slot # each program is going to recruite, and applicants will get this information from NRMP all the time. Usually the number is pretty stable, although there might be small changes. On the other hand, ROL from the programs will never be seen by applicants. I do not think programs have yet rank their applicants, but the quota will be out.

I just did what katzun did. and from 32 positions, my interviews only have 23 spots for the match. Now thats a lot of pre match. It is very scary. And you would think there are no prematches, well good luck everybody

Prematch is huge this year guys!!! One program of my interest has only 4 slots in the match while rest (9) are "out- of match"... Looks like its gonna be very tight this year...its amazing how many prematches have been offered this year!!
