no they are not talking about hemophilus influenza. H influenza causes epiglotitis they are talking about strep . they want us to tell what it is lacking compared to h.influenza and n.menigitidis haha sky high. i may be wrong once or twice or more but not always

hey just read the question. he is asking Which of the following virulence factors is generally absent in the strains of the causative organism that produce otitis media, compared with those that produce epiglottitis or meningitis?

so should n't we say that HI has polyribitol phosphate but strep doesn't. We can't say that HI HAS lipopolysaccharide, but strep doesn't.

why can't say that HI HAS lipopolysaccharide, but strep doesn't??? A previously healthy 18-month-old girl is brought to the office with 2 days of irritability, poor appetite, and pulling at her left ear.( The most common bacterial pathogen in AOM is Streptococcus pneumoniae)She has no known allergies, and her vaccinations are up-to-date. On examination, the child's temperature is 102.8 F. She is easily consoled by the mother and moves her neck spontaneously without discomfort. There is a clear discharge from the nares. The left tympanic membrane is erythematous, dull, and bulging. Which of the following virulence factors (LPS) is generally absent in the strains of the causative organism(Streptococcus pneumoniae ) that produce otitis media, compared with those that produce epiglottitis(h. influenza) or meningitis(neisseria meinigitides)?
