According to Kaplan:
Lateral fibers in myer's loop produces a Right homonomous superior quadrantanopia.
In MCA occlusion affects meyer's loop also and produces contralateral superior quadrantanopsia.

(do both these lesions look the same?)
-The lesion of the lateral fibers in the loop affects BOTH eyes.
-Does occlusion of the MCA affect both sides or ONLY the Contralateral side?

no boss MCA affects both eyes are effected. let me rephrase you

Lateral fibers in myer's loop(of the left side) produces a Right homonomous superior quadrantanopia.
In (LEFT)MCA occlusion affects meyer's loop also and produces contralateral(RIGHT) superior quadrantanopsia.

ITS JUST A MATTER OF FRAMING SENTENCES

contrlateral here doen't mean the other eye,it just mean the other side of both eyes.i.e if the lesion is on the left so right upper quadrant of both eyes will be affected.that what I think

Thanks Geroo.
You are right... Here when they say contralateral, they mean the other side of both eyes.
I got confused by 'Contralateral'

Thanks for the clarification. smiling face
