4 is NOT correct.....in adults osteomyelitis is usually after a penetrating injury or surgical manipulation.

Here's smthng to know:

Unusual Organisms and Osteomyelitis


Penetrating trauma: soil organisms, yeast, gram negative
Hemoglobinopathies: salmonella
Brucella: sacroiliitis
IV drug abuse: P. aeruginosa
Chronic Osteomyelitis: Gram negative enteric, Staphylococcus
Fractures, surgery: chronic osteomyelitis
Contiguous Infection: anaerobes (bite, ulcer, sinusitis, mastoiditis)
Fungi: disseminated H. capsulatum, C. immitis

boss!! so what do you say if it is due to manipulation it does not involve radius and lna?coolsmiling face

any way this a bit contraversial question. the aboe are the frequency of bones involved in infection.

staph is still the no 1 organism i burn. though psudemonas iss present
