A given study is useful in determining causal relationships and in studying conditions with low prevalence. It cannot be used to measure incidence or prevalence of the condition. What type of study is it? 1. Cross-Sectional study 2. Case-control study 3. Cohort Study 4. Case Report

Explanation provided to me: The best study for determining causal relationship in low prevalence is case-control study! our MPH degree holder is right! and he shall explain it better...

hahaha. ok. case control and cohort are the studies done to determine causaulity. the are the ones which look for all the factors in causality detrmination like temporal precedence, constant conjunction, concomitant variation etc. they also have a strong point that they involve large populations. case study cannot determine causality.

Well here low prevalence means a rare disease in the community.Hence case control is a better option than cohort study in monetary terms.
