dear friends
I am apperaing for step 1 in 1st week of march.I have taken nbme form 1 and scored a passing score of 420.I am taking form 2 on january 16th.I am doing kaplan q bank.I started with a very low score in mid 50s but now surprisingly I am scoring above 60 % in most of the tests.I have a few weak areas which I get consistently weak in all types of tests including nbme like "skin and connective tissue",genetics,CNS,renal,and blood.I am studying well as much as I can.I know my dead line is march 5th and I cannot under no circumstances extend that date.My family is convinced that I should stick to this date and go for the exam as I am getting the passing scores.I feel if I get more time,I "might"improve my scores and stretch them to 85.But I know I am at my peak right now and if I tried to delay I may lose my concentration.I am waiting for form 2 results but if I score the same around 80 to 85,(which is actually satisfactory for me),should I go?I have my triad from march to may.I think about the option that I can extend my date and I get tempted..Plz some one with a word or two to advise me sincerely.Is it better to avail the time slot or just go on the schedualed date?thanx

take NBME forum 2 then decide...wht u want. i think 1 AND half month is enuff to improve weak areas We all can just read better in the last month..
so u can do it!!!!!

be confident,reet is right that one and half month is enough to improve urs score,and u r observing that u r improving day by day ,so keep on improving,keep focus on urs weak areas and focus to HY topics(FA).after taking form 2,give one whole month(two weeks b4 test) for form 3,so that u fully prepared for that form and then for test.GL

If u are plannig to take form 3, then it's fine otherwise there's no point to take nmbe2 at the moment, as u already no ur weak areas, nbme prediction works best when one takes it right before exams, so atleast take one of the forms, a few days b4 test.
and yeh i agree with the others that u can make a lot of difference to ur score in last month.... so stick with ur schedule and good luck!
