msyamp, phenylepinephrine would cause increase in blood pressure at level 1, but it decreases, hence cant be

thanks for all the input.

well guys. i am confused too. the fist one means No premedication. but other than that, this is a Qbook question TO THE LETTER!! (i didn`t rephrase it!)

and i dont understand but for some reason the book explains : "Note that the drug, when given alone, INCREASES (!!) BP" and so it concludes options A,B,D according to that presumption are eliminated right off the bed.

when the change is downwards is it not a "Decrease" ? how could they mean "Increase"?

also i don`t know what they mean by the "Same Drug" ?

and based on that assumption the answer is EPINEPHRINE. because of the "Epinephrine reversal" in the presence of Phentolamine (since alpha is blocked Epi acts as a pure Beta-Agonist and is DEPRESSER rather than a PRESSER) which doesnt happen to other drugs.

now either the Graph is wrong or i don`t read the Q right.

what do you think guys?

the main thing is we need to get by heart with transmitter acts where and what changes it brings in heart and bp. if you are conf in that. every thing such long discussions are unnecessary. these kind of cnfusing q s waste our time a lot

For all those who were beating themselves up silly some time ago over this.........
i happened to come across this Q today....the diagram uploaded in here is upside down!! Infact graph bar labeled '3' extends downward..to show a drop in blood pressure...wch indicates the 'Epinephrine Reversal'...so answer epinephrine does make sense after all...
