in injected vaccine our body develops antibodies to the virus particles in the blood. and so it can act only in the blood when again disease causeing virus has come. Ig G is main here as it is a circulating antibody. by the way we have to give more no of doses if given injected thing. because the particles will be easily digested.
now in oral vaccine. we give live attenuated vaccine. so actually speaking one dose will be sufficeint. but our people for eradication and not to miss any child giving five doses though.
now in oral live attenuated vaccine the virus replicates on the mucosa of the gut so no more no of doses are needed, and also the body responds by producing secretory IgA on the gut mucosa. as the virus is live and replication more of it is produced. even if virus goes in it doesnt cause disease as it is attenuated, and even it also give IgG response of circulating antibody.
now if the wild disease virus enters after oral vaccine asusual it enters through feco oral transmision into the gut which is already loaded with lot of IgA. so kills fast. that is the thoery behind it.
