Hey Everyone, I'm in the process of studying for Step 1. I'm so confused. When I do one subject and move on to the other subject I forget the previous subject I studied. But if I go over the subject I did previously it comes back to me. But it just doesn't still in my brain for long term memory. And I don't know what to do. I even do questions after I finish one subject on qbank. And couple weeks later when i'm doing another subject I forget some stuff in the previous subject. So I know i'm doing the right thing by doing questions but how does one retain ALL the information for this exam because there is so much to know? I don't just want to pass but I want to get a good score. If someone could please give me some advice and their tips and advices on how they kept the subjects in for long term memory I would greatly appreciate it! thanx!

hi usmle4life. may be its due to urs learning style, urs learning style may be good for short term and not for long term memory(like me).but if this then it is not the time to change urs learning style.so the best stretegy meanwhile is that revise again and again the material and do more and more practice questions subjectwise or do practice questions chapter wise(very good) and b4 doing qbank subjectwise mustly go through FA,for scoring high it is not necessory that u memorise all material, also try to understand the material ,dont just rely on memorizing material, firstly try to understand and then memorise the material, and esp make insure that u understand and memorise HY topics(FA)well and then do more and more practice questions.GL
