Hai Guys,
I have not posted in the forum for a long time. I feel that i have started melting in tension. My interviews are coming to an end. The externships, research assistantship and the interviews had kept me busy for the past few months. Now I will be totally unemployed from the next month. I have informed all the program directors who offered me prematches that I wanted to go for the match. I am begining to have the feeling that I have nothing in my hands. The very thought of the match melts me down in tension. GOD knows how many program directors were lying when they told me that they will rank me high. It seems everything lies in the hands of GOD. With the story of overwhelming number of applications this year, the fear of not getting matched somehow does not totally leave my mind whenever I think about the match. Things are begining to appear real scary for me.

hi dr mamu, whats up.are u done with the interviews.i m done now,totally unemployed.my situation is like u too.,but i havent had any prer match offers,goin thru this yr s match makes me so tense.i think ,match is dependant on ur luck and everything will be in hands of GOD.so lets pray to him.good luck to u

drmamu...why do u think the PDs r lying when they tell u that they will rank u high...they have no reason to lie...they arn't telling all candidates that.u shud trust them enough.
with so may interviews and prematch offers why think of the remote possibility of not matching.ur chances r very good indeed...wat u need i self confidence.

Did you interview with programs who, as a policy, don't offer prematchs at all??? If that is the case you stand excellent chance. Check the number of positions each program you have interviewed with has at the frieda website and then go to the NRMP website to see how many of their spots have each program reserved for the match. There are many excellent Uni programs with 20 or more PGY 1 positions who offer no prematch at all. If you have interviewed with 2 or 3 of such programs your chances will be much higher. But there are many programs who fill almost all of their positions thru prematch and leave only 2-5 spots for the match. But given the fact that most of those IMGs with great credentials have taken prematches, I beleive, the match will be a better bet, especially if you don't need any visa. Go for it!!! Did I read somewhere that you are 99/99/citizen/USCE/??? If you don't match, who will???

hey guys! its my time to melt now!! dying with tension n doubt.everyone seems to have taken prematch n i am not sure if i did a good thing by declining.but most ppl took from their 1st or 2nd choice but my top choices dint offer me! some of the programs i intviewed with have v few seats for the match left .what is going to happen in the match??

Thank you very much for trying to make me feel better. I know that most of you are in the same boat as me. I have to appreciate and specially thank SAndhu who is always the first to my rescue.
