Hi' Have faith in Almighty and above all in yourself! Try taking a day or two off and assess the areas where u might have gone wrong. Concentrate more on your weak areas but don't neglect your strong areas. Remember that u r a doctor and the hard work u have put in to become a doctor. So stop thinking of killing yourself. Remember that u have a son. Try to cut down on welbutrin and....... GOOD LUCK !

Hey , Don't worry that is the problem, you could not assimilate all when you are worry. The main thing is to review the material that they are going to test you. It doesn't matter matter how much time you spend in studying, what it matters is that you study from the right sources and to understand the main things. I've learned with experience that the USMLE could be a nightmare if you let it be. Why don't you schedulle your test alowing you to have enough time to study and make a good schedulle where you can only study 2 or 3 hours a day. You will have time for your kids and family and also for your test. You need to have discipline and persitence. Be positive and try to relax. I recommend you to study the First Aid for step 1, this is one of the main book, try to memmorized as much as you can and while you are reviewing the material go through the first aid over and over again. for biochemistry and Pharmacology read Lippittcots and for the other subjects BRS are good. Good Luck

I agree with my buddy doc4life and "guest"-remember you have a son who needs you for guidance(thats even in our notes) keep pathophysio as your nucleus-remember that micro, biochem and behavorial ,cellbio and genetics also have alot to do with disease states Consider only using one book per subject .I believe Step Up is also highly rated in this arena. Hope this helps.

One friend told me, do not read to many books try to memorize one,and MCQ, and for sure FIRST AID memorized, but I haven't take the test, I am doing what he told me, remember reading books is for know more for your residency, what you need to do to pass the test is MCQ, one Dr M. Mercado told me one day," the first thing you need to know is what they want you to know, I ask how, he answer me read only questions". He is a medical doctor IM here in US.Do not read to much material, you know it is a lot, try this time with only questions. and next time you will post I PASS. This Country is full of opportunities, you have to fight for it, it was hard to finish your school, but you did it, now you can pass the test , just wait for your time.

Dear rubensssss, I wud disagree with u a bit here.I have lots of friends (including my husband) who have passed licensing exam in last 10 yrs. What u r told by a Doctor was true for the OLD exams.THings have changes a lot in last 5 yrs or so.I know ppl who passed just by doing retired qs.Remember at that time there were only two sets of test /year throu out the world, now everyday thousands of ppl take test with diff set of qs.Not only that more topics r covered but also type of qs have changed too.Wat I mean to say is there r less staight forward qs now.Not only they test ur knowledge but also application of ur knowledge. What I learnt from friends at forums is u need good knowledge(read books) and then learn to apply it and understand what they want to ask u(by doing lots of Questions.I wud recommend reading and revising ur books(preferably one book /subject instead of multiple sources) and revise the as much as u can along with lots andlots of qs. Here again I an at the beginning of my prep and hav't passed the test yet.so it's my personal opinion.

Dear rubensssss, I did mention that I haven't taken or passed any of the stps and wat I wrote was wat I learned from others. To tell u the truth my friends who have passed years ago advice me the same as ur friend gave u(just do questions), but if u talk to ppl who have recently passed, they'll give u a diff advice.I just wanted to say wat I understand about this exam so far so others learn it too. Thanks for helping and being there for us.
