What is RNA polymerase II used for?

The TATA box (promoter) directs the RNA Polymerase II to the initiation site on the DNA while transciption is to begin. I forget the number of base pairs it is before the initiation site in prokaryotes and eukaryotes (have to check up in Biochem of Kaplan)

RNA Polymerase I is for making rRNA
II is for mRNA and III for tRNA
