Back in the days prior to ERAS , applications were not acknowledged and most didn't sent out declines (ohmygoodnessthatwouldhavetakenweeks). Perhaps programs that don't send rejections feel that no answer is your answer. Also, as soon as I do send out the email declining interviews - I received emails and telephone calls wanting to know why, oh why, did you decline me? I'm the best thing since sliced bread. And many persons who called and said that they didn't hear anything, were sent declines, and their email server but them in their trash or bulk mail.

no, i just think as a physician we deserve better. then It would be the same as not cancelling an interview. No showing is the same as not being interested anymore. both options are incorrect and unprofessional. Im not trying to start an argument nor whining, its just that both sides deserve better. I agree, the system needs a tune up. BBB, dont get mad at me, im frustrated. Everybody else, we are in the same boat. How many program directors are there just waiting to start their PGY1 Katzung, Coolbabe, enigma1800, doc_droc_apurva, etc . Maybe then we will have a better process. Good luck to eveybody in the match and scramble By any chance did anybody receive a rejections from my list.
