staph aureus in normal valves, so if they give u a iv drug abuser , he will molst likely have staph aureus, which causes acute endocarditis

subacute is ie on the damaged valves, caused by strept viridans

  #15

which two are left sided, if I remember properly i think staph epidermis? and the other one?

  #16

no i am question no two in my qusetions all others are right sided.

in a context like in q no 2 there can staph aureus or group a strep pyogenes, pneumo gono etc

one more to note with prostheticvalves

again staph, diphroids, coliforms, candida etc.

strep mutans

Thts wht i rmber learning too...staph aureus. thanks for the discussion u all!
but just to mention, in his audio lecs, Goljan for some reason stresses that Strep viridans is the most common organism overall to cause infective endocarditis. He goes on to say that they reside as normal flora in the mouth and everytime you brush your teeth, you are inducing a transient bacteremia!

  #18

well if the person ahas a damaged valve , strept viridans, which includes the strept mutans and strept sanguis, will be the most common..

but in a person with normal valves, staph aureus

thats whta i think drk
