I think Hereditary Spherocytosis after post splenectomy(but I dont think I can assume splenectomy has been done!)....... :oops:

Hi, thanks for the answer.But here since it is not mentioned that the case of hereditary spherocytosis is post splenectomized.The best answer is T.B.

I read at http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/443138_3 Chronic inflammation/Infection releases IL-6(main one responsible), IL1, TNF and other cytokines which cause the liver to produce Thrombopoeitin which acts on the CSF-Megakaryocyte (precursors) :arrow: more megakaryocytes :arrow: more platelets.
