which subjects are more useful to read in FA..?? I think, pharma,micro,biochem+ anat must go thru them. PATHO-PHYSIO is better to do NOTES .
i need u guys suggestion.. which topics are good enuff?

I read it twice and realized that it covers 60-70% of Kaplan Qs

Well, I think FA is really good in all subjects. Whenever students from college in Pakistan, take Step1, they come back and go through FA and mark atleast 250+ points which were asked in the exam. Thats like covering 80% of the exam. So You should totally master FA, I dont know why you are saying patho aint good. Patho is really good in FA, obviously for review and high yield. I would advise FMG's to go through it atleast 3-4 times. It will make a difference in the end. tc and Good luck

what i have seen in previous posts..all guys have read it twice or thrice ..may be this book having desirable CONTENTS fr step1 what exactly we need to read in detail in text books.

I didnt Equate it with a score of 250 or 260+, i meant that when they mark FA there are around 250 areas marked which means around 250 concepts were asked. Its obvious that u just cant memorize each and every bit of anything. Anyways it definitely is an excellent source, and a must for Step1.

Guys, I would disagree that First Aid book is THAT GOOD. Please do not misunderstand me. It is good. Only it is good for quick review, quick recall of some topics. But please be realistic, especially those who had their exams already-it is just not enough! Just for example, I was practicing qs from Qbook Biochemistry, and I could hardly answer them with FA data. You need a good understanding to answer them! Besides, few if any of molecular biology qs in Qbook can be answered with FA. And that's what is Hi Yield on exam! That is truly disappointing.
Micro-you will not grasp the info in FA, if you don't have a serious background in it. Must supply with other source.
As for anatomy I heard you should hardly go beyond FA.

the best thing about FA is that it contains HY topics,80% of which is present in test,the worse thing is that many topics are not explained well(and u have to clear the concepts from other review books and text books if u dont have good base in basic sciences)FA is not explainatory bcs it is mainly written for final review, and i think FA is best for US students bcs US students have good base in basic sciences and also they need just to pass,they dont need to score if u only undersatand and memorise FA well and do some qbank questions u can pass.if u do the topics of FA in keplan notes or other A rated books or textbooks and then do more and more practice questions like qbank ,qbook,bss,nbme,u can score from 80 to 90%.wanna say if u only master FA u can pass,cant score,however if u use FA with other books and questions books ,u can score.
