HI ALL
FINALLY GOT MY SCORE YESTERDAY. HAPPY N RELIEVED THAT ALL WENT WELL. THANKS FOR KEEPING ME REALLY BUSY DURING THE WAITING PERIOD.AS I WROTE EARLIER ON MY EXAM WAS FAIR, WITHIN THE CONTENT OF THE SYLLABUS. I USED THE KAPLAN LECTURE NOTES N FA N THE KAPLAN VIDEOS.
I TOOK MY TEST ON THE 6TH OF DEC & WAS REPORTED ON THE 4TH OF JAN, JOINED THE FORUM AFTER MY EXAMS & GOT ALOT OF HOPE & ENCOURAGEMENT FROM HERE.
PRESENTLY, I HAVE STARTED MY STUDIES FOR STEP 2 & HOPE TO BE ACTIVE IN THE STEP TWO FORUM. I HOPE TO TAKE THE TEST IN MAY, I AM USING THE KAPLAN VIDEOS & LECTURE NOTES FOR NOW AND DONE WITH INTERNAL MEDICINE, TO START PEDIATRICS NEXT WEEK
MY ADVICE TO ALL IS THAT THE EXAM IS DOABLE, ESP TO MUMS WITH LITTLE KIDS LIKE ME, ALL U NEED IS A GOOD PLAN ON HOW TO GO ABOUT IT

STURGE,
I STUDIED A TOTAL TIME OF 6-7 MONTHS. STARTED WITH KAPLAN NOTES AND VIDEOS. I DID 3 READINGS, STARTED THE KAPLAN Q BANK ONLY AFTER MY 2ND READING. STUDIED AN AVERAGE ON 6 HRS A DAY WITHOUT INTERRUPTION. A MONTH TO MY EXAMS, STEPPED UP TO 12HRS OF STUDY A DAY WITHIN WHICH I DID THE NBME,KAPLAN SIMULATED, USMLE CD, & WENT THROUGH THE FA TWICE,MY SCORE WERE AS FOLLOWS
Q BANK 73%
USMLE CD 40/39/41
KAPLAN SIMULATED 74/77
DOES THIS HELP?
NBME 590/238
MY WEAKEST SUBJECT WAS BEH SCI, WHICH ALSO TURNED OUT TO BE IN MY TEST

dear my freind
please tell me about the edition of kaplan lecturer note (year) you use and name of teacher in video tape specially in micro and pahology.
i think kapaln lecture note is too brief and if you are old graduate you will have problem to underestand some of them whats your opinion do you have this problem ?

I WENT THROUGH MY Q BANKS ONCE, COMPLETED IT 3 DAYS TO MY TEST, DID 3 BLOCK A DAY FOR 3 WEEKS( 75% OF MY Q BANK WAS REMAINING AT THAT TIME)

I FEEL THE NBME SHOULD BE TAKEN CLOSE TO UR TEST, FROM ABOUT A MONTH TO UR TEST. NOW IT DEPENDS ON U. IF U WANT TO TAKE ALL 3, THEN TAKE 1 AMONTH BEFORE, THE 2ND 2 WEEKS BEFORE & THE LAST A WEEK BEFORE UR TEST. BUT IF U ARE GOING TO TAKE JUST ONE, THEN DO IT A WEEK BEFORE, SO THAT IT WILL BE A BETTER CORRELATION TO UR REAL EXAM. FOR ME I DID JUST ONE, I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO DO ALL 3, BUT I DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH TIME COS I WAS TRYING TO FINISH UP MY Q BANK.

KAPLAN MADE NEW VIDEOS FOR STEP 1 LAST MONTH, I USED THE VIDEOS BEFORE THAT. THE KAPLAN BOOKS I USED WAS THE 2004 EDITION, THE KAPLAN NOTES WERE MADE TO BE STUDIED WITH THE VIDEOS OR THE LIVE LECTURES. YES, THEY ARE DIFFICULT TO READ ALONE. THE TEACHER IN PATH IS BARONE BUT I CANT REMEMBER THAT OF MICRO, I COULD CHECK IT OUT WHEN NEXT I GO TO KAPLAN

oh congratulations infliximab , i read each chapter 2 times then when i finish the book i read it all again , but i feel i lost time , i dont know if is ok???
then i read the q books question for each course
could yu give me an advice?

THE Q BANK WILL BE A BETTER ASSESSMENT ON HOW U ARE DOING, YOU WILL THEN KNOW WHERE YOUR WEAK POINTS ARE AND IMPROVE ON THEM, GOOD LUCK.
