arsenic inhibits pyruvat dehydrogenase. so no citric acid cycle. no atp . no energy.
it blocks sulf hydyl groups. so no glutathion> increased oxidative damaga.
it also causes uncoupling forming adenosyl arsenyl diphosphate

just an extension-----arsenite form a stable complex with thiol (SH)GROUP OF LIPOIC ACID----one of cofactor or pyruvate dehydrogenase,,,a-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase,,,branched chain keto acid dehydrogenase
