Hi everyone. I just finished step 1. I am starting step 2 prep. Hope to take it in apr. I wonder if it is too little time. But I dont want to drag this on. If anyone has any opinions or suggestions, pl feel free to share.

No i think its an optimal time, if you stay focused you might even do it earlier. Decide your material make a plan and start . All the best.

Hi kingsofke. Thanks. Would you suggest any material other than kaplan, uw and qbank? What about for reference?

Hi,
I also just finished to take my step 1 , I am a mom of a toddler (who is my little terror ) and I am planning to take my step 2 CK in May , I do not have any help , but in the last month I will travel to my country , so I will have family around to help me .
I got the kaplan books , studying around 3-4 hors a day , at night I am really tired , but I hope 4 months will be ok , but I think all depends on how much you can do per day . I am doind a study plan , in the last month I will stop reading new things and stick to my revision .

I would tell you what i am doing and you can ask other people too. and decide what good for you.
SO In my first reading I studied Kaplan Step2 lecture notes , watched most of the video lectures , read step3 kaplan lecture notes, Did some of Pretest (not much) and Did Almost all of Usmle World qbank. I read only Dermatology from First aid . I have done second reading. I did STep2 and 3 lecture notes and revising underlined points from UW and reattemtping wrong questions. And did Step2 Qbook.I did NMS Review for 2 days and then did AL review for Paeds. I will start step 3 kaplan qbank too hopefully and do it for the next 3-4 days. I will NOT do Kaplan step2 qbank.
Will STart my third reading with step2 lecture notes mainly only revising very selective things from other sources i used which i highlighted. I will do Kaplan Qbook for step3 in 3rd reading. In the end i would attempt Kaplan simulated exam and NBME. And would do a very short 4th reading in couple of weeks . and try my luck  on 22nd Feb.

kingsofke: Thank you for your detailed plan. IT IS VERY KIND OF YOU TO SHARE. Can I ask you why you are going thro' step 3 material?
I am having trouble startign serious study. I am doing very little real studying per day, spending time lookign thro forum discussions. I am yet to get my material together. I hope things will pick up soon.

HI, you are wellcome. Many of my fellows did step3 qbook and found it very helpful in improving. So i thought i should look into step3 lecture notes too. The pattern was different but stuff was almost the same, mostly repetition of step2 notes but a few useful cases too. So i just did it. I am doing step3 qbook and qbank in the hope that it will help me improve my step2 score.
