Just completed my basic sciences from a carribbean medical school, and am now preparing for the USMLE step one. I have a problem though... I have really bad performance (test) anxiety.. and I'm really worried about it as I study for the exam now. I have tried relaxation exercises to medications but it does not appear to work.

During my exams, I was able to go over my exams and could catch mistakes in reading either the questions or the answers. Will I be able to do that on the USMLE? I even slept during one of my exams, but also did the best on that exam.

I have tried Atenlol towards the end of the year, and it appeared to decrease my anxiety. I want to increase the dosage but I can't find enough information in regards to the usage of this medication in relation to performance anxiety. It says that it is used for performance anxiety and the side effects.

I ask if there is anyone out there who has similar problems and has found a method that has helped them to share with me. I am open to any suggestions and/or advice.

Thank you.
