Thanks aliya...I think I got bit carried away too with scores and bombed the last block in micro yesterday night..just 66%..May be i was too tired and or the questions attacked my weak defenses..I still have to finish two more blocks on micro then I will start behavioral sciences...

thanks for stoping by,you are doing really good with qbank yes,i took nbme 1 ,because it was necessary to wake up this slow snail to run for the final race.you will be surpriced because my exam i have taken date may 15!!but that is all depend on my nbme 3.if i go above 500 then only i am ready to go.otherwise i am postponing. purpose of my taking exam date was to make a fix target so that i can have that level anxiety and sincereness.because its really hard me to study withuot any motivation, and this date is one of those motivations. but NBME really helps .but i am giving very low performance on BS ,biochem and h sto..i hate those subject, but it seems those gonna kill me it depends on you when to take NBME,but take early.with such a good score in qbank you will take 500 plus definately good luck!!

well the problem is my scores so far are from micro/immuno/patho/physio/mol bio/genetics still anatomy/pharmac/beh science/biochem a big chunk is remaining in q bank. So I can not generalize at this point as you know from your own experience Dipti, couple of subjects poor performance can kill you...so I am trying my best to wrap up by weekend and have atleast a week left to study nbme results... I think you are right about setting up dates...I should have done that too early I think material i studiedin last 15 days after registering for date has been much better then earlier 5 months.

Just for fun I calculated using several tools how much score I can improve if I increase %of correct answer on q bank by ONLY 1% (75% to 76%) You want beleive I can increase my score by 3 on 3 digit score...wow so every little bit matters.

Yesterday night, I attempted a genetics 50 question q bank and got a shocker. I got only 55%. ALL of my frequency related and probability related question were wrong. I realized that I had completely overlooked two simple formulas - 1> p2+2pq+q2=1 and p+q=1 2> While counting probabilty on pedigree, if there are 4 sibs and one already had the disease that menifests at yong age in Autosomal recessive disease, you have to exlude him in probability. Let me explain the second one...If you are looking at sick cell pedigree generation that has four children and one already had diagnosed disease. what will be the probability that out of three other apperently normal siblings a pointed individual is a carrier. Now according to AR rules 25% chance of disese, 50% are carrier and 25% are normal (given parents are heterozygous). Since already one person has a diagnosed disease. Answer will be 2/3 or 66% not 2/4 or 50%. I got pretty sad with the score but on the other hand I got to know my weaknesses. Beh science is going on as you will notice I was supposed to finish it yesterday but I ended up doing more genetics for morning to clear up confusion..I did find some qbank questions unclear and alternative answers possible but that is a different topic. I hope I wont get some questions in board like that.

In regards to AR pedigree, remember that in absence of pedigree, probability of being a carrier remains same as 50% if the children are unborn. Meaning that lets say parents come to you for genetic counselling and they already had a diseased child and they ask what is the probability that my next kid will be a carrier Answer-50% since this will be an independent event.

BS revision over. Qbank score first block 68%. All wrong questions were about patient and physician conversation. These questions are long and very very confusing ...

Its really really close tolito. This monday...coming monday 8th May I am really really struggling but will not postpond the exam unless I do pretty bad on nbme test (<550). I still have to finish pharmacology qbank. Meanwhile, my anatomy sucks big time. However, some good news..histo and embryo (75%) score. Hopefully, they will ask all things I know. FA is not sufficient at all for anatomy qbank at least. I dont know about real exam how much pure anatomy there (artery, nerve, venous supplies-drainage, muscles fn and attachment).

I finally finished Pharmac Qbank 42/185 incorrect answers (78% correct). From all I read on score thread it seems I have good chance of getting good score (above 90) as per qbank score. Only thing I dont know is how long before the exam they do it and improve upon weak areas. I dont have that luxury. My exam is in 4days and I still need to read FA one time in two days before exam to brush up everything. It means my poor area most likely will remain poor. For example, my groos anatomy- I dont think I can go through that detail at this point and may be counter productive. Weak areas for me are: CNS-ANS pharmacology, anti-virals, parasitology, CNS and genital tract tumors, substance abuse, biochem pathways. And ofcourse, Anatomy overall. I will take the nbme tomorrow. I just want to thank you all guys for support throughout. Just keep me in your prayers for this exam
