LOL...I am a female, and this is one of the most ridiculous threads i have ever come across.
to all men- please read thru what u have posted here...ur thoughts abt females are more than enuff to drive every female medico species light years away from u.
to clarify, i am a female , single and after reading this post wld definitely think twice, thrice or maybe 100 times before hooking up wid a medico!
its not abt 'choosing' s/e...its just dat if a female excludes medicos as an option, and i just saw why( and u men are clearly helping us with that) then s/e are the next species in abundance. to the one talking abt stats...this is where statistics comes in. they call it predictive values.
excluded from the above rule ...is ofcoz ppl in love...( and i mean really in love okay)they are blind they can marry a frog ! profession has nuthing to do with it...but then again s/e are in abundance. so a li'l bit of stats here too

...there is no reason for docs to be shallow and consider themselves better than the rest..!!!!!!! this attitude sucks..really. .!!!! u r one coz u chose to be dats all... u R NOT GOD...!!!! so anyone u marry is not "blessed" in aNY SENSE..!!!! lots of other professionals make money..and lots of docs DO NOT..so..dats not a point either.. !!!!!
i am a doctor married to the love of my life.. who happens to be in software..and dats the best thing dat cud have happened to me..
marriage is about people not professions and if u think other wise....all the best to ur spouse and u..!!!!!!

Answering this with the Indian perspective. I think it is demand and supply.
It is normal for a doctor to think that only a doctor can understand their "studying till you are 35" "wierd duty hours" "exams exams and more exams" and similar things.
In the US there are many more Indian software guys than doctors (who even if end up in the US are usually not single and available).
So girls have to keep their options open and choose a software guy.

hi
im new to this site,am a kenyan doctor hoping to do the usmle exams as soon as possible.i read ur comments and i think that possibly the reason why doctor women dont go for doctor guys is because we need smbody to sometimes just listen and not judge us.when you talk to a guy doctor about the shit that ur going through,all he will tell u is that hes been there and will possibly go on to illustrate his bigger problems and how hes facing them in a macho style.no sympathy there.although some of us are still single so ur welcome to try ur charms on some of us.who knows?
