can someone tell the difference between mature teratoma, and monodermal teratoma, and can thyroid hormones be xpressed by both or only monodermal teratoma

no idea, man...I can take a guess but I'll probably be wrong... Anybody else?

mature teratomas are composed all three types of tissues, mesodermal, ecotodermal, and endodermal.



Monodermal teratoma is only composed of one type of tissue.

For example, struma ovarii-the most common monodermal teratoma is composed of solely thyroid tissue. This is why it expresses thyroid hormones.


not sure if mature teratomas express thyroid hormones. I think it depends on whether they have thyroid tissue in them or not.....
