hi all, i would like to know if you think that being a single mother with a daughter age 11 would affect my chances in getting a residency position? i am anxious and not sure how to approach this matter if i have been asked about it in the interview. i am also not sure if i should bring anything about personal life into the interviewer's attention ? i am sure it will come to his attention and i will be asked about it since my CV. shows that i lived in many different states where my ex. husband did his medical residency, plus i have been asked about it in an interview last year.....i don't want to lie and say my husband was doing his residency or can i? my first interview in few days, i am really worried about this aspect. i appreciate your fast response. thanks

I would suggest honesty. If you dodge any such question and get into Residency, one day or the other, it will show up. And moreover, I assume your daughter is 11 YEARS. That should not upset your schedule. ( I wonder if she is 11 MONTHS!). This is a purely personal opinion, the way I would handle it. I am posting this response just to say ALL THE BEST and GOOD LUCK...... Have faith, and go ahead.....
