How can we differentiate clinically between stable angina and unstable angina as exercise test is safe in the former but dangerous in the later case...........................

  #2

Unstable Angina would have typical chest pain at rest...this should make us suspect an unstable angina, whereas stable angina would have pain only after a stress test...

prinzmetal appear in rest it's a kind of spastic angina during coronarography if coronaries are safe we can make a test of methergin if positive we can conclude to prinzmetal angina trt i think is calcium inhibitors
in EKG we have + st segment
appears typically during last thrid of the night.
the differance between stable and unstable angina are circonstances of appearance of the pain and their frequency.
in stable angina pain appear during effort...and are less frequent than unstable angina...unstable angina appears in REST the frequency of crises are more frequent...
hope this will help you. ;-)

in case of unstable angina stress test stress test ( i mean exrcise test ) is contra indicated. in case of stable angina we try a stress test in order to identify the modification in EKG in case of effort...
