please let me know if i got this right :

i thought CD8 cells are only "Nonspecific" BUT it seems that

CD8 cytotxic cells actually participate in BOTH "Specific" & "Nonspecific" immunity b/c

1- MHC class I can bind CD8 cells directely (Nonspecific)

2-MHC class II (APC cells) bind CD4 cells` TCR, and CD4 cells upon activation release IL-2 which activates CD8 cells --> Cell mediated immunity (Specific)

is this correct?

CD8+ = CTL
- eliminate any cell that display non-self antigen, such as virus-infected cells, tumor cells, and cells of a foreign tissue graft.
- the foreign antigen must be complexed with a class I MHC => altered self-cells; these are targets of CTLs.

This is also Ag specific immunity.

Nospecific immunity would be the case for NK cells, which also have ADCC.

hope this helps and that is right.
