40 y/o man has sudden onset of palpitations & SOB 5 days after having knee replacement surgery Pulse 100, regular, SaO2 90% on room air, sinus tachycardia on ECG, unremarkable CXR The most approriate next step in management ? It is really controversial

The given anser is ABG, for suspicious pulmonary emboli

Firstly clinical clue , next do ECG & CXR & ABG

Later V/Q scan is the next

I think B.P here will tell ab the severity of PE.Buts its true to go for ABg first as i have also read the same
