Hey Geroo...I am facing the same problem but my bug-a-boo are the Kaplan notes in Microbiology....am doing my second revision and had actually alloted 4-5 days for it...rolling eyes

The thought of using just FA did cross my mind too but I read somewhere on this forum that FA is not enuff for Micro...so I have decided to slug it out again thru the notes (ugh!), moving other subjects around so as to alot extra time it takes to review the notes...

Well, I hope other people, especially who have recently taken the exam can give their input on this....

Very confusing indeed!shaking head

I recently took the exam and there were only few simple questions from Micro which u can answer easily by reading first aid. Also If you are running short of time do first aid and a quick look on end of the test explanations of Q book in Micro section. I hope this helps. Good luck

Geroo why dont you try reading the last section of warren levinson-jawetz which is basically a summary (data of each pathogen reduced to a minimal).. So you will get a better grasp of each pathogen than reading first aid.. By the way this section is absolutely crammable.. MMRS has tables at the end of each chapter you could combine those two to gete better results..
best regards

hi mazinger,
thanks for the advise, but I don't have this book, and I think it's too late to buy a new book.when i read MMRS I hated the tables at end of chapters coz the print is too small.have u find them helpful?may be I will try to do those tables + FA.and then do qbank, and i wish that's gonna be enough.

Hi guys, I can say that FA for Micro is both:enough and not enough. I 'll explain: it's enough for you if looking in FA Micro section you KNOW everything that's in there, I mean you don't need extra information to understand it, everything is clear for you. Like, for example if you read about certain bug you can think of more information than is written there. If you don't feel you can grasp FA Micro easily-then you must supplement with other book guys, if you have time. If not-then know all that's in FA, and make sure you have a good grip of classification of bugs/viruses, it pretty much put things into right places, when you know it.
