hi..
Alhamdulillah i did my step 1 today...just give briefly as I am feeling so much tired..
anatomy...do neuro anatomy well ..everything ..do pics of spinal cord lesions ..have 3 qs about hearing loss 2 qs about visual field defect ..there was qs about muscle attachment of lower limbas well u have some ideal about this ..no embryo...1 histo slide about male genital tract ...
Physiology...all up and down arrows type qs abot respiration,and endo...(lots of endo)...Cvs pressures and murmers...no calculations,some qs asked with graphical presentations
pathology..actually there is combind physiopatho qs...do male and female reproductive system well..got lot of qs about this..
Immuno...easy but do immunlogical diseases well...asking about Il and complement ...
microbio..lots of viruses..do each and every virus special attention to HIV ...no parasito ,look slides for fungus...cryptococus and all others...
pharma..MOA of asprin ,antibiotics aecially viroligy ..do arachidonic acid pathway well ..i got 3 qs about it...and do thrombolytic agents ..CVS and diuretics ,Ans and Cns drugs...easy ...no calculations...qs asked with graphic presentation..
Biochem..tough ...do specail attention for this subject...do second messenger well...about 5-6 qs i have..
behavior...lot of dr pt relation qs,personality d/o,schezopherania,defence mecahnisma...
Biostats...relative risk,p values...wired calculations...not doing well
mol bio...i have got lots of mol bio qs...presented with biochem,viruses ,immuno...
cell bio...not tough ...
as whole exam was do able...but i dont know i did not have clear pic about my exam ..even did not remember how i perform...feeling of emptyness...i dont know i pass this exam or not....but i believe ...God look us and he knows how we fight ...not for studies only .for everything...i did what ever i can do ...its now up to God ..what he choose for me ...but dont worry ...study well ..u ppl will find ur exam better then me...

Congrat, wishing you a very nice score with the new year. I am an IMG and old graduate (11 years), but still have interest in USMLE. I am preparing for step 1 next August, starting my study from Kaplan notes. Do you think that 7 months are enough for mastering the contents?

Hi.. thanks you everybody for ur good wishes...and sorry for answering lae as i am on vacations in my home country its hard to check my posts regularly... to dr neonatology....yes 7 month period is enough for the preperations...if u take long time to revise the material its very much common to forget your material ...so be perticular and make a schedule and stick on it ..if you are old graduate then may be your first reading took time may be 2-3 months but make sure do your first reading very good and detailed dont do MCQs during your first reading ..in your first reading make sure to understand the material ...mind it you may not memorize the things in your 1st reading ..so dont panic..some subjects took 3-4 readings to understand and full grasping..then start 2nd one with Mcqs ..and in your 2nd reading try to memorize things ..2nd reading is very much imp and kaplan q bank and q book is helpoing you to memorize the things ...mind it real exam is very much diffrent from kaplan q bank and q book .so it is very much imp to read each and every explanations from kaplan q bank and book other wise there is no use then start your 3rd reading ..but do Mcqs regularly ..in third reading u should start practising with time mode means pick 50 qs block and do it in 60 mins time ...it is very much imp ..then gradualy inc no. of blocks ...do 2-3 blocks per day and in the end practise doing 7 blocks per day ...plus do NBME 1 one and half month before ..that will give you the exact idea about the real exam becoz real exam is just similar to NBME and it will define your weak areas ...u can read your weak subjects in 1 and half month time the give NBME2 15 days before .. material you cna use kaplan notes,golian audios for pathe and high yield stuff... I dont get my results right now .i am just giving you an idea how u start your prep ..u cna do changing according to ur mood and abality ..but be perticular to ur studies...and do MCQS as much as you can do .. i hope it will help you ..remember me in your prayes...
