beyond the normal thank you note,what additional steps are in order for telling the pd that one is really really interested???apart from the often talked about second look?
like calling up /writing any letter?
please opine........

well.....
i have been going around the place for interviews with no net access at times....done with 4....really liked one......
ob gyn is tough....very similar credentials of all applicants.......PD s also will have a tough time deciding ....
thats why i wanted to know whats the extra something to impress the PD i really like that one program???
so how are you doing , apurva?

I think whenever you are interested in a program, I think the best thing is to let them know while you are there and in your thank you letter you should express your continued interest and list the reasons why. If you performed well at the interview and you say all these things I am sure they will rank you high and if they have prematch positions, they might even offer it you one. All programs need good candidates and somebody that is interested in them (the only way they will know is you telling them)
I over expressed my interest in my second best program, it came out spontaneously because I interviewed at my best program the day before so I just followed the same strategy. When I wrote my thank you letter, I wrote exactly the same thing I told them while interviewing and I ended up getting a prematch from the second best out of 10 programs. I have accepted the offer by phone yesterday so I think my match race is almost over. Good luck coolbabe and I wish you the very best in the match and I hope you are offered prematch.
